San Diego Yarn Crawl 2025

The San Diego Yarn Crawl happens each year, more information can be found on their website.

With sadness in my heart, we’re down from 13 yarn shops in the county to 3. I did my best to support where I could and bought a ton of yarn!! (My Stash is updated too!)

From A Simpler Time I bought 6 skeins of Herd Sire Albas ONYX. He’s soooo soft, I wish I could show you! I also bought a penguin (yes, instead of an alpaca!) with alpaca fur who was special for crawl. I did learn that the funds from the alpaca versions go towards the feed for the herd so, if you want one . I finally remembered to buy dryer balls this year and I’ve used them once so far. Let me just tell you that this faux fleece blanket I’ve had since high school (something like 20 years) that felt kind of old and worn and just not as soft.. feels like brand new now!! I also noticed the dry time was improved, my towels and blankets dried before my clothes. Lol. I feel like I only just opened my honey from my 2023 SDYarnCrawl but I bought a new jar since I only crawl on odd number years (because I buy more than I can knit in 3 years each crawl :’-D). I feel like there’s one more thing that I bought that I’m forgetting, so maybe it’s meant to be kept secret.

At Emy’s Yarns I bought a bunch more yarn and made some new (human) friends.

Here’s a few photos I took during my crawlventure! The Alpaca are from A Simpler Time mill, I recommend their tour if you’re interested in seeing where and how yarn is made!
